The following list has been compiled from a variety of sources. It might not be a complete list of the landlords. Please contact us if you can add to this list.<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

HENRY BRISTOW: 1768 \u2013 1778 \u2013 cannot be sure that it was called \u2018The Catherlough Arms\u2019 at this time or that it was the current building.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

WILLIAM BRISTOW: 1785 \u2013 1800 (and probably 1779 \u2013 1781) \u2013 cannot be sure that it was called \u2018The Catherlough Arms\u2019 at this time.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

THOMAS PAYTON: 1801 \u2013 1802 \u2013 cannot be sure that it was called the \u2018Catherlough Arms\u2019 at this time.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

WIDOW PAYTON 1803<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

JOHN GREAVES: 1804 \u2013 1806 \u2013 \u2018The Catherlough Arms\u2019.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

MARY GREAVES: 1806 – 1815<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

JOHN TURNER: 1815 \u2013 1818 (may have been longer, but records do not indicate so).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

SAMUEL JOHNS: 1834 \u2013 1848 (may have been earlier as some records are missing). Now called the \u2018Spur\u2019.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

WILLIAM COX: 1850 (White\u2019s Directory) (exact dates not known).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

WILLIAM STEPHENS: 1851 (census) (exact dates not known).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

JOSEPH BALL? : The 1855 Barrels Estate Sale Particulars state \u201cThe Spur Public House and about 6 acres of Pasture Land and House and Garden, . . . in the occupation of Joseph Ball and others\u201d, so Joseph Ball might have been the landlord for a time.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

ROBERT TATHAM: c1856 (Barrels Estate Sale Particulars 1856).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

JAMES SALT: c1857-1869<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

WILLIAM TURNER: 1869 \u2013 1886<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

FELICIA TURNER: 1886 \u2013 1889<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

WALTER WALKER: c1889 – died 1918 (1892 Kelly\u2019s Directory listed as Wings & Spur Inn; 1900 Winged Spur Inn).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

WILLIAM WALKER: 1918 \u2013 (still listed in 1928 Kelly\u2019s Directory but had left by 1932, exact year not known).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

SYDNEY PAYNE: 1932 (Kelly\u2019s Directory) \u2013 year of commencement not known \u2013 died in 1933.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

LAWRENCE \u2018LOL\u2019 HUNT: 1936, 1940 (Kelly\u2019s Directory) \u2013 year of commencement & ending not known.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
